Canon announces EOS 50D
Instead of the long-waited EOS 5D replacement, Canon has just announced their EOS 50D that pairs up with 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 EF-S as kit-lens.

Brief specifications for your quick glance:
- 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor
- 6.3fps continuous shooting, max. burst 90 JPEGs with UDMA card
- DIGIC 4 processor
- ISO 100-3200, expandable to 12800
- 9-point wide area AF
- 3.0″ Clear View VGA LCD with Live View mode & Face Detection Live AF
- Magnesium alloy body, with environmental protection
- EOS Integrated Cleaning System
- HDMI connection for high quality viewing and playback on a High Definition TV
- Full compatibility with Canon EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series Speedlites
Whilst this does not excite me much (or rather disappointing as I’m waiting for Canon EOS 5D replacement), it can be an intro insight to what the Canon EOS 5D replacement model will be like. High megapixels on DIGIC 4 processor (high burst mode), with 3.0″ screen that has Live View support, housed in a great magnesium alloy body.
Will they throw in a better FF sensor as well? A little more patience is all we need now.
