Apple iPhone 4

Ever since the iPhone 4 prototype was lost in a bar (or stolen) by an Apple Engineer Gray Powell, iPhone 4 has become the most talked-about upcoming smart phone.

Be it coincident or done intentionally, another lost iPhone 4 shows new details and it looked almost identical to the prototype reavealed previously.

1GHz A4 chip (same chip used by iPad), slimmer design, front-facing camera, LED flash light, 720p video are among those features that most existing iPhone users hungered for. And it finally seems to be coming to us soon!

Then, we heard about the news saying that Steve Jobs to Deliver Apple’s WWDC Keynote on June 7

Then, Apple decided to reveal the iPhone OS 4 (named iOS4) ahead of iPhone 4 announcement, which is believed to be the core of iPhone 4. Multitasking, fast app switching, local notifications, app folders, new mail app, iBooks, iAd advertising, and many more new features that you may not even care about. All these are suggesting to what the new iPhone 4 will be like.

Not long after that, iOS 4 is available for public to download. iOS 4 will be fully compatible with iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G, but iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G users are not let down where they still can run iOS 4 but with some features missing (big miss would be multitasking, awww)

on 7th June 2010, Steve Job announced iPhone 4 on Apple’s WWDC Keynote as scheduled. Nothing new except Retina Display, essentially a high-end screen with four times as many pixels in the same screen real estate. Otherwise, all other stuffs are as expected, and the delivery on US is expected to be on 24th June 2010.

You may be interested to watch the Apple Keynote’s Network Meltdown, a notable (highlight) glitch during the event, where Steve Jobs had to bail on a demo because of network trouble.

• Some guy lined up for iPhone 4 a week before the launch,
• then pre-orders for the iPhone 4 started on 15 June 2010 with only Black color available,
• then pre-orders turned out to be a disaster,
• then Apple announced that 600,000 pre-orders actually got logged,
• then Apple sent out email saying iPhone 4 shipping one day early in US,
• and finally the first iPhone 4 unboxing video posted, two days earlier than the expected delivery

• while Apple believe that the reception issue can be fixed by iOS 4.0.1
